Teachers can create quizzes on the Kahoot platform or operate quizzes other teachers have shared in the Kahoot community. 

How can you make your account on Kahoot?

You can get started at kahoos.com by clicking sign up in the top-right of the screen. While creating an account, you need to follow five- significant steps: 

Choose your account type.

Four types of accounts are in Kahoot, selected according to your rank. 

  • Teacher- for teachers and professors at school, university, and college 
  • Student- for school, college, and university-going students. 
  • Personal- for those who intend to use Kahoot! For personal/social use.
  • Professional- For users who affiliate with for-profit and nonprofit organizations.

TEACHER

  • School: Select this option if you are working as a teacher in a public K-12 school or educational institution.
  • Higher education: Select this option if you are working as a teacher in a higher education institution.
  • School administration: Select this option if you work in a public school administration.
  • Business: Select this option if you work in a for-profit institution as a teacher.

STUDENT

           You must provide your birth date if you selected the “Student” account.

Afterward, you need to provide a username. You can click on the magic wand icon to generate one automatically. Your username must be 20 characters max, with no spaces or special characters (except for underscores and periods).

PERSONAL

  • Friend and family: Select this option if you use your account for fun with your friends and family.
  • Colleagues or clients: Select this option if you will be using your account in professional settings.
  • Students: Select this option if you use this account as a teacher.
  • Other: Select this option if none of the previous options described the context in which you want to use your account.

Afterward, you need to provide your date of birth.

If you want to continue for free, scroll down and click “Sign up for free – no credit card required.”

Optional: add more information about your account.

You will be asked to provide more information as a teacher or professional user. This step is optional and does not influence the functionality of your account. You can skip it by clicking “Maybe later.” Afterward, you can complete those details in the settings of the report.
