The situation in Germany remains tense. However, the authorities have high hopes for the widespread distribution of rapid tests. Counting on their availability for the population, the authorities of Tübingen decided to take one more step towards getting out of the pandemic and open gastronomy, hotels and cultural institutions in the city next week.
The mayor of the city Boris Palmer said that all residents must pass an express test to visit the shops in the city center. Bookstores and grocery stores are the exception to this rule.
Palmer added that permission to open restaurants, a number of cultural institutions and hotels was requested from the federal state authorities. The city government is counting on permission to be obtained. In this case, the Tübingen relief will be viewed as a test, which should initially last three weeks.
