Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the appointment of the interim governor of the Ulyanovsk region, Alexei Russkikh, reports on Thursday, April 8, the press service of the Kremlin.
“To appoint the Russians Alexei Yuryevich as the interim governor of the Ulyanovsk region until the person elected as the governor of the Ulyanovsk region takes office,” the message says.
By the same decree, the head of state accepted the resignation of the regional governor Sergei Morozov.
As added in the Kremlin, Putin held a working meeting with the Russians via videoconference, during which he congratulated him on his appointment. At the same time, the head of state said that he was counting on the solution of the acting governor of the tasks facing the region, as well as on the renewal of personnel in the region, in which the main backbone would be preserved.
“For my part, I want to wish you and all the people who will work with you success. Hope we see them. You need to get to work without putting anything on the back burner. Bearing in mind your previous experience, I hope that getting up to speed will take place as quickly as possible, ”concluded the President.
The Russians himself called the improvement of the well-being of the population as the main task in the new post.
“The main measure of the governor’s work, I think, is the well-being of the population, the standard of living. Here, of course, there is still a lot of work to be done. Fortunately, we have energy, I have, my team. I think that we must justify your trust, ”the words of the Russians are quoted on the Kremlin’s website.
He also noted that the regional administration has done a lot lately, in particular, it has kept the automobile plant and aircraft manufacturing. In addition, a lot of investments were attracted and a lot of work was done, stressed the Russians.
The fact that Morozov had resigned became known earlier that day. The official explained his decision by his intention to run for the State Duma. Morozov became the head of the administration of the Ulyanovsk region in 2004, and in 2006 he was approved as the governor of the region.
