The press service of the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Smolensk Region posted official information in connection with the actions of the organizers of the unauthorized rallies.
The report says that the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs receive information that the organizers of the action on January 31 are calling for aggression against law enforcement officers in order to initiate clashes between the protesters and the employees ensuring public order. Persons who have committed such offenses will be detained and held accountable as provided by law.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs urged citizens not to be involved in provocations and to refrain from participating in uncoordinated actions, recalling that restrictive measures related to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, including those related to public events, continue to apply.
Irina Volk, an official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, said: “In this regard, calls for unauthorized actions and participation in them are violations of the law and entail administrative, and in some cases, criminal liability.”
