The FBI confirmed the arrest to the QMI Agency without providing further details. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) refused to confirm anything.

According to CNN, US authorities claimed the woman had a gun. Charges should be brought against her. His nationality was not specified. It is not known at which border post she was apprehended.

The letter poisoned by this very toxic substance which was intended for Donald Trump would have passed through Montreal before being intercepted.

In an image of the letter published by the US network CNN, part of the zip code can be seen in the right corner.

We can distinguish “H4T”, which designates, among other things, the Saint-Laurent sector, in the west of the island of Montreal, where a Canada Post sorting center is located.

Other such packages would also have been sent to addresses in Texas, and they are possibly related to the same person.

A woman has reportedly been identified as a suspect in connection with the shipments.

The RCMP had already confirmed, Saturday evening, that the envelope addressed to the American president had been sent from Canada.

“RCMP Confirms Received Request For FBI Assistance In Relating To Suspicious Letter Sent To White House […]. According to initial information from the investigation, the letter would come from Canada, ”could be read in the statement sent on Saturday evening.

Ricin, the substance contained in the letter, is the most violent poison in the plant kingdom, 6,000 times more powerful than cyanide. It is a deadly substance if swallowed, inhaled or injected, and for which there is no antidote.
