In Russia, it is necessary to introduce technologies that do not allow driving while intoxicated, said on Thursday, September 24, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev during a meeting in Vladivostok.
He noted that recently, road accidents that occur due to the fault of drivers who are in a state of alcoholic and drug intoxication have received a great public response.
“In this regard, it is important to introduce new technological solutions that do not allow drunk people to get behind the wheel of a car,” TASS quoted him as saying.
On September 21, an accident occurred on Ostozhenka Street in Moscow. An Infiniti SUV driven by rapper Elley (Elmin Guliyev) rammed a Mercedes, then jumped onto the sidewalk, knocked down pedestrians and crashed into a building.
As a result of the road accident, four people were injured. Three victims were sent to hospital, one refused hospitalization. As it turned out later, one of the victims of the accident – Nadezhda Tukhtarova – had a kidney torn off. Doctors also had to amputate her ankle. Later, the Interior Ministry reported that Elley was driving an SUV in a state of drug intoxication.
On June 8, actor Mikhail Efremov, while driving in a state of alcoholic intoxication, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Lada car driven by the courier of the online store Sergei Zakharov. The next morning Zakharov died in the hospital. In addition, later the investigation found traces of drugs in the artist’s body.
On September 8, Efremov was found guilty and sentenced to eight years in prison. Also, the artist was deprived of his driver’s license for three years. At the same time, it was decided not to deprive the actor of state awards.
After the verdict, the artist refused the services of his lawyer Elman Pashayev. On September 20, it became known that his new lawyer, Vladimir Vasilyev, would ask for a suspended sentence for the convicted person because of the confession of guilt, writes Gazeta.ru.
