The head of Karelia does not plan to send the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Karelia Alexey Shchepin, against whom a case in Buryatia was opened, to resign. According to Parfenchikov, it is premature to draw any conclusions related to accusing the official of exceeding his official powers. This was reported by the press secretary of the head Marina Kabatyuk.
Particular emphasis is placed on the fact that more than 10 years have passed since the incident in question, and when he was appointed to a post in Karelia, Shchepin did not have any questions from the competent authorities.
The head of the republic is sure that it is necessary to wait until the court makes a decision, which will become the basis for action.
“Shchepin’s current professional activity can in no way affect either the course of the investigation, which has already been completed, or, even less, the course of the trial,” Kabatyuk conveyed Parfenchikova’s opinion.
Shchepin himself intends to prove his innocence in court.
