Russians should give up on holidays in foreign countries against the backdrop of the situation with the coronavirus. This was announced on Thursday, April 8, by the ex-head of Rospotrebnadzor, State Duma deputy Gennady Onishchenko in an interview with the Telegram channel “Radiotochka NSN”.

At the same time, according to him, the ban on flights to Turkey would be unnecessary.

“There is no need to close anything, we have business trips. I say all the time that the rest of the Russians should be in our country. I do not slander other countries, but I also say – let’s rest with us. And you don’t have to go anywhere! ” – noted Onishchenko.

Earlier on Thursday, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, said that Russian citizens should rest in their country so as not to be quarantined abroad. She added that domestic tourism in Russia is actively developing and the authorities are striving to provide citizens with a comfortable stay at an affordable price.

On April 6, the head of Rospotrebnadzor urged Russians, if possible, to be vaccinated against COVID-19 before the start of the holiday season in order to spend their holidays without restrictions and help form herd immunity in the country.

On April 1, epidemiologist Viktor Maleev said that there is a peak in the incidence of coronavirus in Europe, so it is safest for Russians to spend their vacation in 2021 within the country. The specialist pointed to an improvement in the epidemiological situation in Russia, stressing that at the moment in some regions of the country only a few cases of coronavirus are recorded.
