Former US President Barack Obama announced Thursday the release of his book on November 17, two weeks after the election between Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
“Promised Land”, which will be published simultaneously in 25 languages around the world, is the first of two volumes.
“Having finished a book is a very special feeling and I’m proud of it,” tweeted the former Democratic president, in power from 2009 to 2017.
Donald Trump’s predecessor explains that he tried to offer “an honest account” of his presidency, and a reflection on “the ways to allay divisions and make democracy work for everyone”.
The book (whose project was known, but the release date remained shrouded in mystery) will be released in the United States by Penguin Random House.
Michelle Obama’s book, published in November 2018, was a resounding success. It has sold over 11.5 million copies worldwide.
