According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), over the past day in Germany, the number of newly infected people has increased by 10 824, which is significantly less than yesterday (16 947). Currently, 3,385 patients with Covid-19 are being treated in the intensive care unit. However, not all authorities transmit their data on weekends, so actual numbers may be higher.
As of Monday, November 16, 801,327 cases of infection have been recorded in the country since the beginning of the collection of official statistical information on the coronavirus. The total number of deaths from Covid-19 to date is 12,547 people. The R value over 4 days is approximately 1.19.
It is estimated that there are 273,580 active cases, that is, people currently infected. This figure is not officially recorded by the Robert Koch Institute. However, as in other countries, it is determined by subtracting the number of deaths (12,547) and the estimated 515,200 recovered from all ever infected.
According to the Intensive Care Register, 3,385 people are currently being treated for Covid-19 in intensive care units. This represents approximately 11.87 percent of the more than 28,500 intensive care beds in Germany.
