According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), over the past day in Germany, the number of newly infected people has increased by 15,741, which is significantly less than yesterday (22,964). In addition, 138 deaths were recorded in 24 hours. Currently, 3,633 patients with Covid-19 are being treated in the intensive care unit. Not all authorities release their data on weekends, so actual numbers may be higher.

As of Sunday, November 22, 918,269 cases of infection have been recorded in the country since the beginning of the collection of official statistical information on coronavirus. The total number of deaths from Covid-19 to date is 14,022. The R value over 4 days is approximately 1.05.

There are an estimated 300,447 active cases, that is, people currently infected. This figure is not officially recorded by the Robert Koch Institute. However, as in other countries, it is determined by subtracting the number of deaths (14,022) and the estimated 603,800 recovered from all ever infected.

According to the Intensive Care Register, 3,633 people are currently being treated for Covid-19 in intensive care units. This represents approximately 13.0 percent of the approximately 28,000 intensive care beds in Germany.
