Norwegian skier Emil Iversen commented on the result of the 15 km mass start in the classic style at the World Cup in Falun, Sweden, in an interview with NRK on Saturday, January 30.

According to the athlete, it was assumed that there was “slight chaos”, a lot of falls, because “if you follow someone, then there is simply no way out and there is no way to get around.”

“AND [россиянин Александр] Bolshunov was very good, unfortunately. He also fell, but he was like a bulldozer – he got up, stepped over everyone and ran. Should the Norwegian team have picked up the pace when Bolshunov fell? We don’t think in this way to try to take advantage of someone’s failure. I don’t think any of us thought so, ”Iversen said.

Earlier on January 30, it was reported that Bolshunov took first place in the mass start in the classic style at the World Cup stage in Falun, Sweden.

The Russian came to the finish line, showing a time of 35 minutes 16.3 seconds. The second place was taken by the Norwegian Johannes Klebo, the third – by his compatriot Paul Golberg.

In the course of the race, Bolshunov fell and rolled back to 38th place, but after a few kilometers he managed to return to the leading group.
