New cycle paths will be equipped in the regional center next year. As the press service of the regional administration told MK in Pskov, the participants of the meeting on the development of bicycle infrastructure in Pskov came to such a decision today, September 17.
The discussion was attended by the chairman of the regional committee on transport and road facilities Boris Elkin, as well as the Pskov city manager Alexander Bratchikov, deputy head of the UGH Alexander Gratsky and activists of the “Killed Roads of Pskov”. Based on the experience of European cities, several decisions were made at once. One of them is to create lanes for cyclists on the already repaired wide sidewalks (along Rizhsky Avenue, Chudskaya and Yubileinaya streets, and then on Leon Pozemsky).
The second solution is to create “loopback” routes. They have yet to be developed with public involvement.
In the near future, the press service of the Pskov region administration noted, an approximate estimated cost of the work will be worked out. Work on the creation of bike paths will begin as soon as the weather permits.
