Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Security Council Vasily Nebenzya commented on the West’s accusations about the situation around opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
The Russian diplomat noted that there are some contradictions in Germany’s position, since Berlin demands to investigate the incident with the oppositionist, but at the same time refuses to cooperate with Russia.
In this regard, according to RIA Novosti, Nebenzya cited the Latin aphorism “Is fecit cui prodest” (Made by the one who benefits).
Earlier, during a meeting of the UN Security Council on chemical weapons in Syria, some countries raised the topic of Navalny. Thus, diplomats from the United States, Germany, France, Belgium, Estonia and Great Britain condemned the alleged “poisoning” of Navalny and called on the Russian side to immediately conduct an open investigation of this incident.
