In the regions of Russia, where the population ignores the anti-epidemiological measures introduced in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, the number of hospitalizations of the sick is growing. This was announced by the head of the Russian Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko at a meeting on the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, July 29.
“Since mid-June, the overall epidemiological situation has improved, we observe a gradual decrease in the number of hospitalized patients, but nevertheless we are still working with a fairly large number of these patients,” the minister added.
According to Murashko, today about 3 thousand patients in Russia are in intensive care on artificial lung ventilation devices (IVL).
“Currently, we, among other things, are preparing measures to eliminate the consequences, including the rehabilitation of patients. Methodological recommendations have been prepared, and the regions are updating plans to reduce medical and demographic losses. Therefore, this work is carried out with each region personally, ”said the head of the department.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova, the number of COVID-19 cases in the country is growing by an average of 0.7% per day. She pledged to support high coverage of coronavirus testing in subjects despite the current restrictions due to the pandemic. This will help prevent new outbreaks, avoid the formation of new foci, including those of a family nature.
According to the headquarters as of July 29, 5765 new cases of coronavirus were registered in Russia in 83 regions over the past day. Of these, 24.8% had no clinical manifestations of the disease. In total, 828,990 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the country since the beginning of the epidemic.
Earlier, on July 25, Murashko said that population immunity to infection is being formed in Moscow and the incidence of COVID-19 in the city is declining.
