Rap singer Morgenstern on his Instagram page announced his readiness to represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest.
In one of the stories, the artist on January 20 expressed confidence that he would win everyone.
As noted by the TV channel “360”, earlier the producer Joseph Prigogine proposed to send Morgenstern to Eurovision. He stated that the cancellation of the competition in 2020 does not mean that the Little Big group will represent Russia in it in 2021.
Rapper Timati openly supported Morgenstern. Not without a joke, he suggested “to support the petition and open a vote,” writes the Federal News Agency.
The Russian rave group Little Big was supposed to represent Russia in the competition in 2020, but due to the pandemic it was canceled, writes “Moscow 24”. Meanwhile, the musicians’ video for the song Uno broke the music festival’s record for views. At the moment, the video on YouTube has gained over 179 million views.
In November 2020, the organizers announced that they would retain the results of the semi-final draw held for the canceled event. The decision on participation in the competition, on the performer representing the country (participant from last year or new), remains with the broadcasters of the countries. All songs selected for the 2020 competition will not be able to be used at Eurovision 2021.
The organizers assured that the competition will take place in 2021. It will take place in Rotterdam following the victory of the country’s representative Duncan Lawrence with the song Arcade in the 2019 competition.
