The coastal missile systems (DBK) “Bastion” of the Baltic naval base destroyed the naval strike group of the mock enemy during the exercise, according to the website of the Ministry of Defense on Thursday, March 4.
“The personnel of the” Bastion “missile complex completed the tasks of changing positions and deploying complexes in a new area with a missile strike on a simulated enemy,” it was reported.
According to the plan of the exercise, the control center of the fleet received intelligence that the naval strike group of the “enemy” was preparing to inflict fire damage on the objects of the coastal infrastructure and the ships of the fleet.
“The calculations of the BRK” Bastion “found a conditional enemy, in the shortest possible time brought the complexes into combat readiness and with salvo firing of cruise missiles (by performing electronic launches) destroyed a detachment of ships,” the press service noted.
It is noted that about 100 servicemen took part in the exercise, more than 30 pieces of equipment were involved.
Earlier, on February 28, the crews of the Ka-27 deck-based anti-submarine helicopters of the Baltic Fleet conducted exercises to search for a simulated enemy submarine in the Baltic Sea.
BRK “Bastion” is designed to protect the sea coast with a length of over 600 kilometers. It is capable of destroying surface ships of various types and classes under conditions of intense fire and electronic countermeasures. Ammunition of one complex can include up to 36 Onyx missiles.
