Holders of the Mir card will be able to pay for inexpensive purchases worth up to 1,000 rubles by simply activating the smartphone screen, according to the payment system’s website on August 10.

“If earlier payment using the mobile service of the Mir payment system was possible only when the smartphone was unlocked, now, to pay for the purchase, you just need to activate the screen. This is especially true when making quick purchases for small amounts, ”the message says.

In order to take advantage of the new payment option, you need to update the Mir Pay application on Google Play to the latest version.

It is noted that in some cases, to improve the security of the payment, the smartphone may ask you to unlock the screen. If the purchase amount exceeds 1 thousand rubles, then, as before, unlocking will be required for payment. In this case, you do not need to enter the application itself.

It is emphasized that the details of the Mir card are not stored in the smartphone and are never disclosed when making payments. Instead of the real card number, a specially formed digital code is used – a token.

Earlier on August 10, it was reported how the holders of the Mir card can receive cashback for the purchase of tours in Russia under the program to stimulate domestic tourism.

On July 22, Mishustin said that tourists who rest in Russia will receive monetary compensation from 5,000 to 15,000 rubles. The tour must last at least five nights, and its cost is at least 25 thousand rubles.

Part of the money can be refunded if the voucher is bought on the Internet and paid with a Mir card, it must be paid in full in one payment. The tour should take place before December 20 this year.

Mir Pay was launched in March 2019. In the future, the National Payment Card System (NSPK), the operator of the Mir card, plans to connect all leading Russian banks to its system of payment for goods using a smartphone.
