Minsk receives documents for testing Russian vaccine against COVID-19

Belarus has received a package of documents for a clinical trial of a Russian vaccine against the new coronavirus. This is stated on September 17 in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Health of the republic.

Works on the examination of documents for a multicenter clinical trial of a combined vector vaccine for the prevention of coronavirus infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, Gam-COVID-Vac (Sputnik V), produced by FSBI NITsEM im. N.F. Gamaleya ”of the Russian Ministry of Health is conducted by leading Belarusian specialists, the report says.

The expert group included specialists from the Center for Expertise and Testing in Healthcare, as well as leading experts in the field of epidemiology and infectious diseases.

“It is planned that about 100 participants will be included in the study in Belarus. Those wishing to take part in the vaccination can submit applications on the websites of healthcare organizations that have been selected as research centers, ”the department noted.

On September 15, in Belarus, clinical trials of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus infection Sputnik V began, volunteers have not yet been recruited.

Earlier this week, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko expressed gratitude that the republic would be among the first to receive the Russian coronavirus vaccine.

The world’s first coronavirus vaccine, Sputnik V, was registered on August 11. On September 8, the drug was released into civilian circulation.
