The detained resident of the so-called “Change Square” in Minsk, Stepan Latypov, intended to spray chemicals near the houses of the security forces. This was announced on September 19 by an unnamed employee of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus on the air of the state television channel STV.

“Through Internet messengers and social networks, he was collecting money for subversive activities to discredit the authorities and administration, an unauthorized action was organized against police officers in the capital to place prohibited symbols, flags, murals on the facades of buildings,” RIA Novosti quotes the words representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

He noted that law enforcement officers with the help of technical means learned about the intention of the defendant to use a chemical preparation of the first hazard class, containing the poison diphosphine, against police officers and other persons.

At the moment, Latypov has been arrested, a criminal case has been opened, a search is being carried out in his vehicles and rented warehouse premises.

Earlier on the same day, a protester in Vitsebsk attacked police officers. It is noted that the man is seriously interested in fascist symbols and takes an active part in rallies.

On the eve of the Permanent Representative of Belarus at the Geneva office of the UN, Yuri Ambrazevich, denied the data on the presence of political prisoners in the country and did not confirm the accusations of sexual violence against the protesters.

Mass protests in Belarus began after the announcement of the election results, according to which Lukashenko was elected president of the country for the sixth time. Those who disagreed with the results of the vote took to the streets of cities, there were clashes with the security forces, there are victims on both sides.
