State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev on Thursday, April 22, announced that the decision on the depth of economic integration between Belarus and Russia remains with Minsk.
“The decision on the depth of economic integration, taking into account the proposals made by the Russian side, is now behind Minsk. At the same time, the principles of equality, mutual respect, partnership have certainly been confirmed in the framework of work on union programs, ”Dmitry Mezentsev shared his opinion with RIA Novosti.
He added that out of the total number of union programs, 26 projects can already be submitted for direct signing.
In the process of discussing integration issues, Russia and Belarus have learned to fully listen to the arguments of each side. Mezentsev stressed that Friday’s talks between Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in Minsk with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, as well as participation in meetings of heads of federal and republican ministries and departments, indicate that relations between the two countries have reached a new level.
Mezentsev also praised the message of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly, in which the Russian leader “convincingly and principledly” expressed himself in relation to Western pressure, which is manifested in the formation of a number of difficulties in international life.
On the eve of April 21, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Russia and Belarus will have to get used to living in an aggressive, hostile and unfriendly environment.
