Metropolitan Mark of Ryazan and Mikhailovsky congratulated the townspeople on the holiday of the Bright Resurrection of Christ. This is reported by the Ryazan diocese.
The Metropolitan explained that this holiday has a different name – Passover, which comes from the Hebrew word “Passover”, which literally translates as “passed”, “passed by”, and is associated with the history of the deliverance of the Jews from Egyptian captivity.
“Thanks to the Easter of Christ, all mankind has found freedom from the slavery of sin and death, and a new community of people has arisen – Christians, where there is no Greek or Jew,” added Metropolitan Mark.
He also said that Christ was resurrected to give people the opportunity to touch and feel the taste of eternity on earth, in Christ’s Church.
The Metropolitan congratulated the people of Ryazan and wished to experience the fruits of the Resurrection of Christ and join in the joy of Easter.
