In turn, the footballer’s father confirmed Lionel’s intention to leave the Spanish team, referring to the clause of the contract, according to which Messi can leave for free at the end of each season.

Barcelona indicated that this condition expired in June. Messi’s team believes that the date has shifted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Messi announced his intention to leave Barcelona on August 25, the management of the Spanish club confirmed the information.

Later it became known about the negotiations of the Argentinean with the head coach of FC Manchester City Josep Guardiola about the transfer. Manchester City is ready to offer Barcelona € 100 million for Messi, as well as footballers Gabriel Jesus, Bernardo Silva and Eric Garcia.

At the same time, the British media reported that the Spanish club could sell Messi to the English club for € 280 million with a surcharge.
