Not quite at the usual time – prime time on Friday evening – on the Russia 24 TV channel another speech by the Tver governor Igor Rudeni took place. Among the themes of the Volens-Nolens program, covid once again dominated: on that day, its sad harvest in the cities and villages of the Upper Volga region amounted to 171 people.

Our proud beast does not surrender to the enemy

However, this fact did not force the head of the region to panic: according to Igor Rudeni, the situation is not easy, but it is under control, and specialists are fighting the infection. In addition, real combat teams have been formed under the leadership of the region’s chief doctors who have acquired experience. The governor added that our doctors have learned to treat coronavirus even more dynamically, using the ninth version of the instructions of the federal Ministry of Health that was recently sent to the regions.

As for material resources, the Tver region has provided itself with hospital beds with 120% oxygen supply. 141 more beds will go into operation on Monday, with 230 in reserve.

The governor did not miss the opportunity to once again urge his fellow citizens not to self-medicate a dangerous ailment, not to trust the good advice of his cured friends to use this or that medicine. After all, each human body can react to it in its own way.

– And today the main front of our work is prevention, – announced the head of the region. In line with this policy, since Monday, November 9, the region is tightening its countermeasures against the “crown”. Now, in shopping centers and other public places, you have the right to demand, not ask, to wear a medical mask. All such establishments have already received a circular to serve only masked customers. Moreover, you need to wear a mask in the area adjacent to some shopping center.

And unjustified loyalty to covid dissidents will cost a legal entity a fine of 200 thousand rubles. The upper limit of punishment for such a fault is 500 thousand rubles, however, the governor is sure that he will not have to resort to it.

103: wanna talk about it?

An additional 10,000 masks were recently purchased by “Transport of the Upper Volga Region”, because now they really cannot ride without a mask. These rags will be distributed free of charge to passengers with uncovered faces as a humanitarian gesture. And then, apparently, people must get used to the new order.

Another measure to counteract covid will be the free distribution of medicines approved by the Ministry of Health to outpatients. On behalf of Vladimir Putin, 5 billion rubles have been allocated to the regions of the country to provide free medicines to outpatients fighting Covid-19. Of these, 50 million rubles went to the Tver region.

– These funds have already contracted the necessary drugs under the protocol for the treatment of coronavirus infection. From November 11, the drugs are expected to arrive in the region. We plan to receive the maximum list of drugs for the treatment of covid in 5 days, in order to then issue them to the residents of the region on the recommendation of doctors, – said the governor. The medicines themselves will be dispensed by the attending physician after the diagnosis is made.

In addition, a kind of remote consulting detachment is being created from the number of medical workers over the age of 60 in the region. It will be possible to receive a remote consultation by calling 103, to which the new formation will be linked.

Igor Rudenya said that today about 215 tests for coronavirus are being done in the region every day (with a standard of 150). He pledged to strengthen support for those health facilities that bear the greatest testing burden. This is the medical center named after Avayev, the regional hospital and the laboratory of Rospotrebnadzor. At the same time, the governor mentioned that the primary link of regional medicine continues to work.

He noted with satisfaction the expansion of the network of state pharmacies in the region. While there are not everywhere, but there will be, assured Igor Rudenya, in every municipality and in every central district hospital.

The roads that we call

From medicine, the conversation turned to a program of a comfortable urban environment. The issue of renaming the 50th anniversary of October avenue into Korytkov avenue, which has unexpectedly become relevant in recent days, also fell under this heading. Nikolai Korytkov in 1960-1978 was the first secretary of the regional committee of the Kalinin CPSU, and during this period the most active social and economic development of the region fell. According to Igor Rudeni, this is a person who formed the backbone of the economy of the Upper Volga region, and the memory of such people, of course, must be immortalized.

– You can rename whatever you like, but it is important not to forget your history, – emphasized the current successor of Korytkov.

Another issue that caused a sharp public reaction was the prospect of building a high-speed railway line between the two Russian capitals. Tverityan is worried about where the rails will lay. And it worries in exactly the same sense as the residents of the territories of the potential northern bypass of Tver: once having invested in proximity to nature, they will now have a view of the rails with sleepers (or a busy highway) outside their windows.

Once again, the governor assured everyone of respect for the right to private property, but urged to think about the public good.

– If everyone says that I have a vegetable garden here, and I go to this forest for mushrooms, then there will be other regions that will offer to build a highway for them.

According to Igor Rudeni, another powerful argument in favor of the new railway can be the jobs that will inevitably arise around this facility.

(However, in the private opinion of the author of these lines, the current geopolitical situation makes the Moscow-Minsk high-speed rail more relevant, which is the same in terms of distance. I wonder what will outweigh in the end?)

At the end of the conversation, the governor invited his fellow countrymen to a Saturday match of the Tver football team. If not to the stadium, then watch the broadcast on the Internet.
