Olga Vakurova, Senior Assistant to the Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kostroma Region, told the Kostroma media that her colleagues are now investigating another criminal case into the negligence of Kostroma officials.
The reason for the start of the investigation was information in the city media about cases of attacks by stray dogs on Kostroma residents. Over the past three months, there have been several cases of aggression by stray dogs. In three cases, dog attacks on people resulted in injuries – stray dogs bit three minors.
Meanwhile, as the investigators found out, the duties of the employees of the MCU “Center for Overexposure of Animals” also include the capture and isolation of stray animals. Now law enforcement officers are trying to find out how effective it was (if at all) was the fulfillment of these duties by the officials of the MKU.
