If yours is a blogging company that makes money and you would like to register a company that runs a blog, you can do so. The blogging company requires to be registered first like the LLP (limited liability company), or private limited company, or solo firm and so forth.

it is not compulsory that you have to go with the LLP (limited liability partnership) or a register private limited company. You can run a simple solo firm that is the best legal entity for testing and realizing your ideas into work.

You are obliged to register your trademark for your blog; although it is not compulsory in India, it has certain advantages. Before going into that, it becomes essential to choose the right business structure for your business from the variety of options such as LLP (limited liability partnership), OPC (one-person company), sole proprietorship, or private or public company. A private limited company is very predominant among the entrepreneurs as it provides many benefits. That’s why it is crucial to carry out the process to register a private limited company in India as per the provision of prescribed law before starting the business.

There are five types of business organization available in India as given below;

  • Partnership firm – If you have two or more than two founders, this can be selected as the best way to register the blogging company in the form of the partnership firm. In this type, a partnership deed requires to be set up, and a PAN card is needed as ID proof. With the assistance of this, a current account can be created in banks registered under the name of the blogging company.
  • Private limited company (PLC) – if you have two or more than two founders, then along with a partnership firm, this type can be selected as a suitable way to register as a private limited company (PLC). If you aspire to the company that will make a big company and its formulation cost is high, it could be the best way for you to do so.
  • LLP (limited liability partnership) – it is identical to that of a private limited company (PLC) with fewer liability and fewer setup costs. If the budget is less, then it can be an attractive way to register the blogging company. For its registration, a DIN (designated identification number) requires to be acquired along with the digital signature certificate (DSC) of registered partners. Check for the availability of the name and the submission of incorporation and subscription document before going into the registration process for it. Lastly, the LLP agreement requires to be set up as well.
  • One-person company (OPC) – although a one-person company (OPC) enables a single entrepreneur to run and operate a business with limited liability protection, a one-person company (OPC) does have a few drawbacks and limitations. For example, every one-person company (OPC) is obliged to nominate a nominee director in the AoA (articles of association) or MoA (memorandum of association), who would become the owner of the one-person company (OPC) in case the promoter Director is disabled. Furthermore, a one-person company (OPC) has to be converted into a private limited company (PLC) if its annual turnover goes beyond Rs. Two crores and should submit audited financial statements with the ministry of corporate affairs (MCA) at the end of each financial year (FY). That’s why it is crucial for an entrepreneur to carefully consider the characteristics of a one-person company (OPC) prior to incorporation and registration.
  • Sole proprietorship firm – if you are a single blogger, it is a reliable way to register your blogging company. A current account can be created after the service tax registration process has been done. Service tax registration requires to be done, and the process would require you to furnish a PAN card, Aadhar card, voter ID and one business address proof as there are tax impacts on income from blogging.

To register a blog company as a startup, you must first log in to Startup India’s official website. Once there, you will see a tab titled startup India services, under which you must select start-up acknowledgement. From there, you must complete all forms and upload all required documents.
