Keel of a new crab fishing vessel laid at the Onega shipyard

On February 2, at the Onega shipbuilding and ship-repairing plant (OSSZ), the laying of the third crab-catcher vessel for catching and transporting live crab for the Russian Crab Group of Companies took place, the Ministry of Economy and Industry of the republic reports.

There will be seven such vessels in total. The first construction began less than a year ago – on the day of the 100th anniversary of Karelia, June 8, 2020.

The total cost of the order exceeds 10 billion rubles. The project of the crab vessels was developed by the Damen Engineering company (St. Petersburg). The ships should be built within five years (by 2024). They will sail the Okhotsk and Bering Seas.
