Kalmyk orchestra and Buryat theater agreed on cooperation

The National Orchestra of Kalmykia signed an agreement with the Buryat theater “Baikal” on mutually beneficial creative cooperation for the preservation of the cultural heritage of the regions, the creation of a single cultural space of the Russian Federation.

The document was signed by the artistic director of the National Orchestra of Kalmykia, Savr Kataev, and the director of the Buryat theater “Baikal” Dandar Badluyev, as part of the celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the National Orchestra of Buryatia.

In Ulan-Ude, the 80th anniversary of the National Orchestra of Buryatia, which is part of the Baikal Theater, was celebrated on a large scale. The soloists of ballet, opera and Buryat stage appeared on the stage together with the orchestra. The event was also marked by a parade of eleven conductors – the conductor’s stand was occupied not only by the directors of the orchestra Zhargal Toktonov and Battulga Galmandakh, but also by special guests – artistic directors, chief conductors of the national orchestras of Kazakhstan, Bashkortostan, Kalmykia, Tatarstan, Yakutia, Tyva and Buryatia. Under their leadership, the hero of the day performed the music of the peoples represented by the guests.

Conducted by Savr Kataev, the Kalmyk suite “Steppe Sketches” by composer Pyotr Chonkushov was performed.
