A well-coordinated company of citizens appeared before the court in Yaroslavl, for several years “selling” poor-quality water filters to pensioners.

Citizens who had got hold of the addresses of lonely pensioners somewhere called at the door of elderly people and told them that they were checking the quality of drinking water. They showed gullible pensioners a simple chemical experiment – they dripped a certain reagent into the water taken from the tap, after which terrible brown and black flakes appeared in the water.

Fraudsters said that this is a sediment of toxic compounds that are simply filled with tap water. And these connections need to be filtered. The device, which looked like a filter, was with me in a beautiful box.

The apparatus cost thousands. If pensioners did not have money with them, they were invited to bring them to the bank so that they could withdraw money and pay for the purchase.

Of course, the filter didn’t actually filter anything. In total, there are 20 episodes in the case.

One of the members of a criminal group that made a deal with the investigation has already been sentenced to 2.5 years in a general regime colony.
