A regional municipal solid waste management operator operating in Velikiye Luki has been convicted of irregular garbage collection. As was told “MK in Pskov” in the city prosecutor’s office, the supervisory authority became interested in the problem after the appeal of one of the local residents.
In his statement to the prosecutor’s office, the Veliky Luchian said that he lives in the private sector. Then he mentioned that there are garbage containers between residential buildings, where homeowners dump waste. The problem, he said, is that the regoperator takes out the garbage only twice a month.
“This is unacceptable and contributes to the deterioration of the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the city of Velikiye Luki,” the city prosecutor’s office explained, and after that they noted that a submission has already been sent to the company engaged in the export of MSW demanding an immediate correction of the situation.
It is currently under consideration. The elimination of the revealed violations is under control of the prosecutor’s office of the city of Velikiye Luki.
