In the Toropetsky district of the Tver region, two men hijacked a conveyor-snow and swamp-going vehicle “GT-S”. Details are reported by the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The hijacking was reported by the police from a 32-year-old man. The victim said that the vehicle belonging to the electric grid company was stolen from a field near the village of Luzhan. The man also said that the GT-S driven by unknown persons had brought down a power line. The police who arrived at the scene of the crime tracked down and detained the suspects. They turned out to be two previously convicted men born in 1986 and 1989. In the department, the hijackers explained that they had decided to ride an all-terrain vehicle, but lost control and got into an accident.

A criminal case was initiated against the suspects in accordance with part 1 of article 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Unlawful seizure of a car or other vehicle without the purpose of theft.” Men face up to seven years in prison.
