The residential area of Massarania, destroyed during the war, began to be restored in the largest Syrian city of Aleppo. The chief engineer for the restoration of the quarter, Bashar Takhaoui, spoke about this.

According to him, many houses were seriously damaged, and their reconstruction is a very difficult process. Tahaoui noted that sometimes it is easier to rebuild a house than to remodel, but the authorities do both at the same time.

All work is planned to be completed in the next six months. It is noted that this concerns precisely the restoration of houses, which, presumably, people will be able to call in immediately after delivery. In addition, it is planned to re-erect about 30 apartment buildings in the district.

The residential area is located near the highway that leads to the airport. Before the war, they began to build houses for young families here, but the project was not completed, since the area was captured by militants. It was also planned to build kindergartens, schools, playgrounds and other infrastructure facilities here. The builders intend to complete all unexploited objects.

On July 18, it was reported that the old Aleppo market, the building of which the militants used as a prison, would be restored by the end of 2020 – early 2021. It is planned that after the reconstruction, the building of the old market will turn into a modern shopping and office center.
