Exceeding the weekly thresholds for the incidence of ARVI in Russia, especially among adults and children from 7 to 14 years old, Rospotrebnadzor notes. This was announced on Tuesday, September 22, at the press service of the department.
According to the statement, this phenomenon is due to “respiratory viruses of non-influenza etiology (parainfluenza viruses, adenoviruses, RS viruses, etc.).”
The department clarified that vaccinations against influenza are being carried out in all regions of Russia. More than 16.1 million people have already been vaccinated.
Doctors predict an early start to the SARS and influenza season. Growth is expected in early October. This is due to the opening of kindergartens and schools, as well as cool weather.
Earlier in September, quarantine was introduced in some schools in Tyumen and the Perm Territory due to an increase in the incidence of ARVI among children and teachers. At the end of August, the chief sanitary doctor of the Tyumen region, Galina Sharukho, warned that classes would be sent to quarantine for coronavirus or ARVI if more than 20% of students were sick in them.
