In Russia, over the past day, 8,489 new cases of coronavirus infection were recorded. This was reported in the operational headquarters for the fight against the disease on Monday, May 3.
Most of all new cases were detected in Moscow (2635), St. Petersburg (704) and Moscow region (641).
During the day, 336 deaths were recorded, 6,367 people fully recovered.
In total, to date, 4,831,744 cases of coronavirus have been detected in the country in 85 regions. Over the entire period, 111,198 deaths were recorded, 4,450,289 people recovered.
On May 1, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, noted that the situation with coronavirus in Russia remains stable, there is no critical increase in the incidence.
According to her, the deterioration of the epidemiological situation can be expected if the residents of the country do not follow the necessary rules: use antiseptics, wear masks and gloves.
As the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko specified, as of May 2, more than 300 thousand patients with coronavirus are under observation.
Also on the eve of Natalya Pshenichnaya, deputy director for clinical and analytical work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Natalya Pshenichnaya said that the daily increase in the number of coronavirus cases will be zero when population immunity is formed in Russia at the level of 60-70%.
