In Russia, 11,022 new cases of COVID-19 were detected per day

Over the past day, 11,022 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in Russia. This was announced on Friday, March 5, by the operational headquarters for monitoring and controlling the spread of coronavirus infection.

Most of all new cases were detected in Moscow (1820), St. Petersburg (975) and the Moscow region (746).

Also, over the past 24 hours, 441 deaths were recorded, 15,027 people fully recovered.

To date, 4,312,181 cases of coronavirus have been detected in Russia in 85 regions. Over the entire period, 88,726 deaths were recorded, 3,900,348 people recovered.

On the eve of the head of the Department of Mathematical Modeling of Energy Systems of St. Petersburg State University, the head of the Center for Intelligent Logistics of St. Petersburg State University Viktor Zakharov, said that successful vaccination would avoid an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 in the country. In his opinion, Russia will be able to reach the level of percentage growth of 0.1% at the end of the second decade of March, Moscow – at its beginning.

On the eve of the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev stressed that by June 2021, 40 million citizens could be vaccinated against coronavirus.

In turn, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russian coronavirus vaccines are the safest and most effective in the world. The head of state noted that there is not a single severe side case in the country, except for a temperature increase of 10% on the second day after vaccination, but the level of protection remains high.

Sputnik V became the first vaccine against coronavirus in Russia and in the world; it was registered by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in August 2020. The second vaccine was the drug “EpiVacCorona” from the scientific center “Vector”. On February 20, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the registration of the third Russian vaccine against coronavirus, called KoviVac, created at the Chumakov Center.

The Sputnik V vaccine has proven to be safe – this conclusion follows from a scientific article by scientists from the Gamaleya Institute, published in the leading medical journal The Lancet on February 2. Its effectiveness is estimated at 91.6%.
