The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kaluga Region began an inspection on the fact of the discovery of a man’s body in a fire on Saturday, April 24 in Obninsk The burned down house was abandoned, according to the press service of the department.

“On April 24, at about 22:30 Moscow time, a fire broke out in house number 56 on Moskovskaya Obninsk Street. A man’s body was found during extinguishing in the house. A procedural check is being carried out on this fact,” the press service said.

According to the preliminary version, the house was abandoned and on the eve of the fire there were two persons without a fixed abode. According to one of them, he and a friend drank alcohol in this house. After that, the men lit a fire. The second man fell into the fire and could not get out of it. The flame quickly spread throughout the room. The survivor also received burns, including his hands, while trying to lift an acquaintance.

The investigator appointed the necessary investigations. The identity of the deceased and the circumstances of his death are being investigated.

Based on the results of the check, a procedural decision will be made.
