Over the past day, 1,160 patients with confirmed COVID-19 have recovered in Moscow. This was announced on August 21 by the deputy mayor of the capital for social development Anastasia Rakova.

“The total number of people who have recovered from infection has increased to 202,727,” she said.

The previous evening it was reported that 12 patients had died in Moscow with a diagnosis of pneumonia and positive tests for coronavirus. In total, 4,710 people with COVID-19 have died in the capital since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 255.1 thousand cases of infection have been registered.

On Wednesday, August 19, the deputy mayor of the capital, Vladimir Efimov, said that the Moscow authorities did not plan to close the city’s businesses again due to the coronavirus. At the same time, he stressed that the city is ready for any scenario, but there are no reasons to close production facilities.

In Russia, as of August 20, 942 106 cases of infection were detected, 755 513 people recovered, more than 16 thousand died.
