Quarantine in Germany has been extended, schools are closed, and the relaxation of restrictions on social contacts is possible after the country’s morbidity rate falls below 35 per 100,000 in seven days. This situation, coupled with the fear of losing a job, leads to stress, psychological problems and a sharp increase in consultations with psychotherapists.
The survey of the German Association of Psychotherapists (DPtV) among its members also testifies to the completed appointments with doctors of this profile, according to the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”.
The survey included responses from about 4,700 participants. 40 percent of respondents said that the number of sign-ups for a consultation in January increased by almost 41 percent over the previous year. In the offices serving the insured in private health insurance – 61 percent.
