The authorities of the Republic of Crimea will continue to work to identify the persons involved in organizing the blockade of the peninsula by Ukraine.

According to the chairman of the State Council of the republic, Vladimir Konstantinov, the organizers of the blockade will be named by name.

“The work has reached a new level – filing lawsuits to initiate criminal prosecution of persons directly responsible for the implementation of economic terror against Crimea. These are the initiators and organizers of the water, transport, energy blockade of the peninsula, ”TASS quotes Konstantinov.

At the moment, he named the names of ex-presidents of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk and Petro Poroshenko, Ukrainian deputy Andrei Senchenko, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, head of the organization “Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people” banned in Russia, Refat Chubarov, one of the leaders of the Crimean Tatar national movement Mustafa Dzhemilev …

Konstantinov is confident that the perpetrators will be held accountable for their actions.

On April 20, a working group of the Crimean parliament submitted materials on the water blockade of the peninsula to the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation. Konstantinov added that the preliminary damage to agriculture due to the water blockade is estimated at 200 billion rubles. He noted that other industries have also suffered, and residents of the region continue to experience inconveniences.

After the reunification of Crimea with Russia in 2014 following a referendum, the supply of water through the North Crimean Canal running from the Dnieper to the republic was completely cut off by Ukraine unilaterally. In Kiev, they believe that the authorities should not supply Crimea with water until the peninsula returns to the country.

The Russian government has prepared a comprehensive plan to ensure a reliable water supply to the peninsula. Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the problem with the water supply to Crimea will be resolved and the authorities will not save on this.
