The activity of Russian submarines in the North Atlantic has risen to appalling levels, the Daily Mail writes on October 25.

The publication, citing military sources, claims that London is seriously concerned about the ability of the Russian Navy’s submarines to quietly approach the British shores.

At the same time, the number of stealth submarines of the Akula class (NATO classification of Project 971 multipurpose nuclear submarines) allegedly increased.

“If earlier one submarine was noticed in this area, now there are two or three of them,” the article says.

According to military experts, the “terrifying onslaught” of Russian submarines into waters previously controlled by the Royal Navy and the United States is a serious threat, since NATO countries, apparently, cannot track Russian submarines.

In early October, American experts said that the United States was no longer “inaccessible” due to the modernization of the Russian submarine fleet. In April, The National Interest magazine spoke about the US “headache” over Russia’s elusive submarines, recalling that the US Navy had previously lost the Severodvinsk submarine and had been trying for weeks to find it in the Atlantic Ocean.
