In Belarus, security officials beat and detained a guy and a girl sitting on a bench near the entrance, REN TV reports.
The incident was filmed by eyewitnesses. The footage shows how several law enforcement officers hit young people with truncheons. As a result, the pair falls to the ground. After that, the security forces took them away with them.
What caused the actions of law enforcement officers, the authors of the video did not indicate. It is also not known exactly where the video was filmed, since the protests took place not only in Minsk, but also in other Belarusian cities.
On August 9, a wave of actions by opposition supporters, dissatisfied with the election results, swept across Belarus. Several thousand activists gathered in the center of Minsk. Later, clashes began with the police, one soldier of the internal troops of Belarus and several others were injured.
The police used tear gas and stun grenades.
The presidential elections in Belarus were held on Sunday, August 9.
According to preliminary data from the CEC, the current head of state, Alexander Lukashenko, is gaining 81.35% of the vote, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya – 8%.
