• Then, open the downloaded file. 
• Now, you have to agree to all the terms and conditions to install the software. 
• Select installation issues when opening the QuickBooks Tool Hub. 
• And select the QuickBooks Connection Diagnostic Tool and this will fix the issues. 

Or 

• From the official website of Intuit, you can download the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool. 
• And close all the other running programs in the background.
• Now run the QuickBooks Connection Diagnostic tool. The process duration will depend on the speed of the internet connection. 
• At last, when the process is complete then you have to restart your computer. 

Method 2- MS Windows update and install 

The installation error may be fixed by QuickBooks Update and installing the missing updated. 

• Go to the start button on the windows icon.

This method is not mandatory for all, it can only apply to the user of Bitdefender. If you are using Bitdefender then you can’t fix these issues by just disabling it. This is required to add the QuickBooks in the Bitdefender exclusion lists. 

• For 32-bit Windows OS- you put C:\Program Files\ Common files in the exclusion lists. 
• And for the 64-bit Windows OS- you put C:\Program Files\ Intuit (C:\Program files (x86)\ Intuit) in the exclusion list. 

Method 6- Selective Startup Mode

If you use the selective startup mode then you may get rid of this QuickBooks Error 1402. This error can occur due to the third-party application blocking the installation. If you want then you can opt for the selective startup mode and try to resolve the error. Below are the steps mentioned:-

Step 1- Data Preparation

• In this step, you have to take a backup of the company files. 
• Then, save the copy of the QuickBooks Desktop product and license information. 

Step 2- Start your system on selective startup mode

• Open the Run window by pressing and holding the Windows+R key together. 
• Now, type msconfig on the windows. 
• Then, in general tab select the selective startup and also opt and load system services. 
• Now, go to the service tab and select ‘hide all Microsoft services’. 
• At last, select the ‘disable all’ option.

Step 3- In the Hide all Microsoft services checkbox uncheck it

• Firstly, make sure that the windows installer checkbox is selected. If not, then select it. 
• Click on the OK tab and then restart on system configuration windows. 

Step 4- Switch to Normal Startup Mode

• Open the run windows and then type msconfig on it. 
• Then, in the general tab select the normal startup and click on OK. 
• Lastly, reboot on system configuration windows.
