The situation with coronavirus in the regions of Russia is different. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova announced this at a meeting with the President on April 23.
According to her, 16 regions are in the stage of reducing the incidence, and 62 are in the stage of stabilization.
“The situation is different in the regions. 16 regions are in the stage of decline today, 62 are in the stage of stabilization and seven regions of the country are in the stage of continuing growth, ”she said.
During the announcement of the annual message to the Federal Assembly on April 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that collective immunity in Russians could be developed in the fall, but the solution to the problem largely depends on the citizens themselves.
The day before, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova said that the growth in vaccination against COVID-19 in Russia allows us to expect the lifting of restrictions “some very near future”, but if they are abandoned, it is necessary to remain careful.
Large-scale vaccination of the population against coronavirus infection started in Russia on January 18. The vaccination is given free of charge to everyone.
As of April 23, 4,744,961 cases of coronavirus were detected in Russia in 85 regions. Over the entire period, 107,501 deaths were recorded, 4,371,214 people recovered. Most of all new cases per day were registered in Moscow (2502), St. Petersburg (694) and Moscow region (609).
