From January 1, 2021, the conditions for the transition from a compulsory state health insurance company to a private one have been changed. In accordance with the new rules, working residents of Germany in the future will be able to switch from public insurance, for example AOK, BKK, TKK or another, to private, if their annual salary before taxes in 2021 is at least 64 350 euros, which means 5 362 , 50 euros per month. In 2020, the threshold for changing insurance was 62,550 euros.
Good news for private health insurance clients. From January 2021, the maximum amount of the employer’s contribution will slightly increase – from 367.97 euros per month to 379.74 euros.
