Experts believe that one of the most important tools in the fight against coronavirus is mass testing, and are in favor of early approval of tests for home use.
The first rapid home-use coronavirus tests in Germany may hit the market this spring. The Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices hopes they will be approved in March. “Based on the available data, we currently assume that the first tests can be accepted at the beginning of March,” a spokesman for the institute said in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung.
The Institute is reviewing applications for admission of 30 different products. With their help, everyone can conveniently, at home, take the test within a quarter of an hour.
