In Germany, about 5 million people have been vaccinated since the end of December. Basically – residents of the country over 80 years old, belonging to the risk group. This is the population group that has the least number of social contacts and has practically no effect on the spread of the virus in the country. Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder has launched an initiative to revise the “strict vaccination protocol”.
According to the politician, the focus of vaccination should be aimed at young people. For example, students in universities.
He also believes that more vaccinations should be in the regions that are hotbeds of coronavirus infection. This is, for example, the border region with the Czech Republic. Foreigners who permanently enter Germany for work must also receive vaccinations. “We need more vaccine for hot spots,” Söder made a statement to EU member states.
