When prescribing vaccination against Covid-19, priority was given to a girl with a severe disability. “A child with a severe disability should be vaccinated first,” – such a verdict was issued by the Administrative Court of the City of Frankfurt in an urgent decision, on Friday, 12 February.

The eight-year-old had suffered from severe brain defects, epilepsy, recurrent respiratory infections and blindness from birth, according to a court spokesman. Due to this health condition, according to a doctor’s note, there is a significantly increased risk of severe or fatal Covid-19 disease. After the girl’s parents unsuccessfully tried to get vaccinated at the health department, they applied to the administrative court on behalf of the girl for temporary legal protection, which is now partially granted.

The court ruling states that the girl does not belong to the category of persons with the highest priority, but as a person with intellectual disabilities – to the group of persons with high priority.
