Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel is extremely concerned about the current epidemiological situation in Germany. The politician insists on the introduction of massive restrictions. So, in view of the sharp increase in the number of infected, according to Merkel, it is necessary to more severely restrict the work of restaurants and other catering enterprises, up to their closure, as well as limit or even prohibit the holding of events. – the newspaper “Bild” reports.

Unlike the lockdown in the spring, schools and kindergartens are planned to be closed only if the number of detected infected people in the relevant region greatly exceeds the critical limit of 50 infected per 100,000 population in seven days. The tightening of measures will also not affect enterprises that should continue to work.
The Chancellor’s conference, scheduled for Friday, has been postponed to Wednesday in view of the dramatically evolving situation. It is expected that Merkel will persuade the authorities of the federal states to accept this model of dealing with the pandemic.
