As you know, quarantine in Germany has been extended with slight indulgences until March 28. However, the epidemiological situation in Germany is of concern. To avoid a jump in the number of infected, employers in Germany must allow their employees to work from home until the end of April.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved a decree by the Federal Minister of Labor Hubertus Heil extending the decree, which expired on 15 March. The document, in particular, states: “If an employee performs office duties or similar activities, the employer must invite employees to perform these duties from home, unless there are compelling reasons to prevent this.”

“Working from home is an important tool in the overall strategy to reduce contacts and fight the pandemic,” Heil said.
