The debate about the emerging side effects of the coronavirus vaccine seems to be a drop in the sea. As it became known from media reports, the European Union plans to change its vaccination strategy from 2022. The EU Commission has no plans to renew the contract for the supply of vaccines AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. Instead of these vaccines, Brussels will focus on vaccination with mRNA-based Covid-19 drugs, like vaccines from manufacturers Pfizer / Biontech and Modera, the newspaper La Stampa reports, citing the Italian Ministry of Health.
The advantages of mRNA-based vaccines are efficacy and safety. Also, do not forget that a large number of doses of the drug can be produced within a few weeks. However, while vaccines are sorely lacking.
Reuters reported that the EU Commission is awaiting an explanation from Johnson & Johnson regarding the delay in deliveries of the drug to the EU. The first vaccine batches are due to arrive in the EU in mid-April. Will the delay, as well as the situation with Astrazeneca, lead to another slip of the vaccination company in Germany? It is obvious that the drugs from Biontech and Moderna are not enough to vaccinate the population. Discussions about side effects following vaccinations with Astrazeneca have led those who receive the first dose of the drug to receive the second from Biontech and Moderna. Brandenburg has already announced the suspension of the first dose of the vaccine due to a shortage of vaccines.
Germany has taken a leap in the past few days by launching vaccinations in the offices of general practitioners. According to the Ministry of Health, at the moment 5,186,135 people are fully vaccinated in Germany, or 6.2 percent of the total population. 14,058,329 residents of the country received at least the first dose of vaccination. This corresponds to 16.9 percent of the population. In one day, Tuesday, 530,537 doses of the vaccine were administered. A week ago, 407,000 vaccinations were given on Monday and about 376,000 cans on Tuesday.
According to the Robert Koch Institute, “herd immunity” is achieved when about 70 percent of the population is vaccinated.
Germany says this:
Tests and quarantines will be canceled for fully vaccinated
If the tenant secretly registered tenants in a rented apartment
Law change in Germany: Curfew and new rules for shops, schools and restaurants – what applies in your area
More paid days of childcare during quarantine and mandatory testing in offices
